Nutritional Blood and Urine Analysis

Nutritional Counseling

It is important to treat the whole person.
You have probably seen many articles regarding the power of the Mind/Body connection. Others label it Mind/Body/Soul or Mind/Body/Spirit connection. The body’s innate sense of wisdom knows what to do to heal itself. It is only when we get in the way that it becomes confused.

There are many studies relating to these inter-connections; and one is called psychoneuroimmunology, which simply means that the psychology of the person is tied to the neurological system and to the physical system (immunology).

Nutritional imbalances, deficient diets, and delayed food allergies can be a direct cause of emotional and physical issues.

People with various “labeled diseases” or addictions often have a deficiency in certain neurotransmitters and require supportive amino acids, vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, and herbs. There are related gut dysbiosis issues or heavy metal toxins that disrupt our finely tuned bodies. Often I will do a heavy metal & mineral hair analysis test to determine if this is the problem. This Lab Test is a truly amazing test and comes with an extensive and informative report.

Many Modalities to Support YOU:

I offer many modalities to support you in regaining your health. Many are discussed in the other sections, i.e. hormones, heavy metals, etc. Just take a look. Additional ones include the following:

Nutritional Blood Test:

You may come in with your current blood test or I can send you to a local lab to have a complete CBC Apex panel done. I often add a Vitamin D3 test. Again, I do not diagnose from these tests, nor do I bill insurance. What I do is analyze the blood test from a nutritional perspective. The relationships of the items on the blood tests define certain underlying weaknesses that are present. If the bacterial count is noted as high, then in order to bring the body back into balance we will use supplements to address the situation. Sometimes it will indicate that further investigation is warranted, or in some cases I may refer you to your MD for a specific purpose.

Designed by Dr. Peter D’Adamo, the “Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type” Doctor, has taken his original concept magnitudes further in defining your specific type and a nutritional plan that is supportive of your specific type. For instance, in the Eat Right book there was a diet for each blood type; O, A, B and AB. With the GenoType Diet there are 6 types and they overlap with the blood types. For instance there are now three possibilities for an O -Blood type to consider. There are the Hunter, Gatherer, Explorer, Teacher, Warrior and Nomads. Curious which one you are?

Many clients have found symptoms disappear while eating the foods recommended for their type. Increased energy and focus as well as weight loss are other findings that my clients are excited to report.

Dr. D’Adamo also has new software, just released in June, 2009, which I can use to further access your optimal eating plan. Basically I enter in your data as well as any diagnosis your Dr. has given you, or we can put in any condition that you know you have a tendency toward and experience and viola ! – your nutritional plan is further defined to support you on your path to health.

As an approved practitioner by Dr. D’Adamo, I do the GenoTyping in my office and provide you with the outline of foods that support you the best.

One food is a medicine to one person and a poison/toxin to another. If your diet consists of foods that are challenging to your body, they can also affect your memory, your focusing ability, and your energy. They can compromise your immune system, give you rashes, and fatigue can be experienced. Finding out your GenoType can set you free from a world of symptoms and provide peace of mind.

Iodine Test:

This is a relatively new test and yet it has been used for years. You simply capture your urine for 24 hours after ingesting a 50mg Iodine table to determine how much iodine you are excreting. This actually provides an indication as to how much Iodine you have in your body.

Many people who have been on thyroid meds for years or thyroid adaptogens/glandulars, report they still did not experience the energy they once enjoyed. Based upon the results of the test, it is suggested how much iodine you might need and then you are retested in 3 months.

So what is causing low Iodine? Well, as we know the soils have been depleted for a while now and the U.S. government put Iodine in Salt that was unfortunately bleached and literally robbed of its nutrients. That helped many people. Well, now my clients, as well as other health minded people only use Celtic Sea Salt as it is complete with many minerals that we are also low in. (Heavy Metal Test is fabulous for assessing minerals – critical to health.) The problem is that it is not as high in Iodine. I did the test just this month and feel better on Iodine. Can’t wait to my second test…

24 Hour Urinalysis Testing:

The Urine Test Evaluates Bio-Terrain Markers and provides us with an overview of what is going on in your body. This test is a combination of the famous Rheams test and the Loomis Enzyme Urinalysis. The following biomarkers are measured to provide an overview of what may be happening with your body chemistry. Excellent test. Based upon the results, I will put together a nutritional protocol to support you in balancing your body.

The following markers are tested and a report if provided.

  • Inflammation
  • Electrolyte Patterns: Low and High
  • Nitric Oxide
  • Sympathetic Nervous System Stress
  • Saliva pH
  • Adrenal Stress: (Konisburg Cortisol Test)
  • Iodine
  • Thyroid
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Digestion & Absorbtion
  • Hydrochloric Acid
  • Enzyme Assessment
  • Sugar metabolism
  • Basic Metabolic: Vit. C, Calcium, Zinc, Chemstrip, Urine pH, Saliva pH, Hydration Index, Urine Specific Gravity
  • Ammonia
  • Ketogenic
  • ChemStrip
